Introduction

The In addition to forms containing the metadata of a DMS object, a preview of the binary content files uses the VIEWER Service and content file assigned to it can be displayed. In a client application based on our developer libraries, the content preview is retrieved either via VIEWER Service or PDF renditions.

It is also possible to compare those previews for two different binary content files - either belonging to two different DMS objects or to two different versions of the same object.

Supported Formats

If the VIEWER service supports the format of the corresponding The content preview can be displayed if the file type of the binary content file , it

• If the format is not supported by the VIEWER service,

• a PDF rendition is requested and displayed if the format is supported.

  Note: A PDF rendition can be retrieved only for binary content files assigned to the current version of DMS objects. This can have an effect, when comparing different versions of a DMS-Object, and the format of its content file is not supported by the Viewer Service, but only by the PDF rendition. If the format is neither supported by VIEWER nor RENDITION service, no content preview can be displayed.
