yuuvis® RAD

Performance Improvements in yuuvis RAD Workflow Engine (10 minutes, Bratislav)

In the development of yuuvis® RAD version 7, we focused on technical improvements that optimize parts of the server code, enhance the overall system architecture, and ultimately increase the performance of workflows.

Now, we have performed benchmarks to quantify these improvements and they confirm our initial observations: version 7 provides a consistent improvement in all analyzed scenarios, with version 7 being up to 5.8 times faster in certain metrics than version 6.16 LTS.

Extensions of the Search Service (5 Minutes, Martin)

Fuzzy Search

It is possible to configure the Search Service to support the fuzzy search feature of Elasticsearch: In the case, a user has mistyped a character the relevant word is found as well. Be aware of some loss of performance when activating this feature.
This feature is also down-graded to the yuuvis® RAD version 6.16 LTS (current hotfix).

Search in table rows without a column value

The Search Service allows searching for objects containing table rows with no specific column value. The client supports this search in the same way as given for fields:

Optimizations of developer documentation and localizations (3 Minutes, Martin)

In the REST-WS interface, a developer is getting more information about the events of the DMS and BPM history as well as of all possible error codes. This allows client developers to set up custom messages for all languages that are required.
In the case of the DMS and BPM history events, all backend-specific keys are represented in the language files of the client as well. Translating such a client-specific language file into an additional language these history entries are translated as well.

yuuvis® Momentum

Product Version 2021 Autumn - Released 20th of August 2021

New core features in yuuvis® Momentum Autumn 2021 (10 minutes, Andreas D.)

Brief outline of the new features of the Autumn version

Workflow

Public API of BPM Engine (5 minutes, Bratislav)

The essential workflow functions needed for client development have been published as a public API. The API focuses on user perspective (get tasks of authorized user, start a process as authorized user, etc.) and allows for the development of fully custom clients on a stable API. Functions and endpoints needed for administrative purposes (such as "show tasks of all users in a tenant") are available only within the Kubernetes cluster and are not public.

Workflow with Reference Client (Martin)

With the 2021 Autumn version, we started with a first step supporting Workflow in the client: The user can create a follow-up, he can manage them in the 'My Follow-ups' view, and is getting a notification in the Inbox when the follow-up date is reached.

Beginning with 2021 Winter Alpha 2, the user can start a process for selected objects via a plugin action shown in the object actions menu, manage them in 'My processes', and work on the task form or confirm the task. The process history as well as the attachments of the process are shown as well.

Microsoft O365 Integration (Martin)

In this case, the content of an object is a Microsoft Office mime-type the client will offer to edit the corresponding file with the help of the OS O365 service. Saving the changed file back leads to a new version of the object.

Documentation (2 minutes, Inga)

The documentation for yuuvis® RAD 7.8 is available in German. The English translation will follow in a few weeks. The documentation will be updated regularly with respect to the continuous delivery of the software.

Friendly reminder: Since older versions of yuuvis® RAD are no longer being maintained as of this release, they will be removed from the documentation portal, so that after a transition period only the documentation for versions 6.16 LTS and 7.x will be available. For users of older versions, the help will still be available from within the software.

What are we doing right now and what is the goal?
